Lino Sabattini was an Italian designer and craftsman renowned for his exquisite metalwork, particularly his silver creations. Born in Correggio, Italy, in 1925, Sabattini was fascinated by the world of design from a young age. He began his career working in a brass shop, where he honed his metalworking skills and developed a deep appreciation for the material.
In 1955 Sabattini moved to Milan, where he opened his own studio and began creating his unique designs. His work was characterized by its elegance, simplicity and attention to detail. He often used traditional metalworking techniques, such as hammering, chasing and embossing, to create beautiful and functional pieces.
Sabattini's work quickly gained recognition and he soon became one of the most sought-after designers in Italy. His pieces have been featured in major design magazines and exhibitions and he has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1979.
