Mario Moretti Foggia was an Italian painter who left a significant mark on the artistic panorama of the 20th century. Born in Mantua in 1882, he trained at the Academies of Verona and Milan, where he had the opportunity to learn traditional techniques and deal with the most innovative artistic currents of his time.

Moretti Foggia was an instant traveler, and his numerous stays in the East, in particular, profoundly influenced his artistic production. His canvases are in fact characterized by a brilliant palette and an intense brightness, which recall the warm and lively colors of oriental landscapes.

The artist was a master in painting landscapes, both Italian and oriental. His canvases are characterized by great attention to detail and a very suggestive atmospheric rendering.
