Giuseppe Viola was an important Italian artist, active mainly in the second half of the 20th century. Born in Milan in 1933 and passed away in the same city in 2010, Viola left an indelible mark on the Italian artistic panorama.

Viola is considered the leader of the pictorial movement called "Imagism", which was inspired by the poetics of Ezra Pound. This current sought to convey emotions and sensations through strong and evocative images.
His works are characterized by a strong visual impact, with bright colors and bold brushstrokes. The artist often expressed deep and intense emotions through his creations.
The recurring themes in Viola's works are nature, the human figure, spirituality and reflection on the existential condition.
Viola used various painting techniques, from oil on canvas to tempera, also experimenting with sculpture and ceramics.

He has held over 160 solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, achieving great success with the public and critics.
His works are present in prestigious public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art of the Vatican City and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Helsinki.
Among his most important works are "The Love of Life", donated to the Museum of Modern Art of the Vatican City, and the "Miracles of San Francesco da Paola" for the Cathedral of S. Antonio da Padova in Rimini.
