Ceramic shelf from Nove di Bassano with flowers and a beast, hand-painted by Gian Battista Viero and made in the 19th century. Restorations have been carried out as shown in the images.

Giovan Battista Viero was an important ceramist active in Nove di Bassano in the 18th and 19th centuries. His manufactory is known for producing high-quality artistic ceramics, characterized by elaborate decorations and vivid colors. The productions include everyday objects, such as plates and vases, but also figurines and highly valuable decorative items. The Viero manufactory is known for producing maiolica and earthenware. The marks "GBV" with or without a crown are the marks found under the bases of the products.

Nove di Bassano, in the province of Vicenza, is a ceramic production center active since the 17th century. The ceramic tradition of Nove is characterized by a great variety of styles and techniques, ranging from maiolica to porcelain, from earthenware to porcelain.
