Ceramic tureen decorated with leaves, made by Royal Rudolstadt in the early 20th century
Plate - Ø 16 cm
Refined Royal Rudolstadt porcelain tureen with lid and plate, made by a German manufacturer active from the late 19th century through the early decades of the 20th century.
L’The piece stands out for its distinctive dusty blue and white two-tone color scheme and its exceptionally rich three-dimensional decoration. Raised leaves, fruit, and pinecones encircle the body and lid, while the fluted surface of the plate and lid enhances the sculptural character of the composition.
Royal Rudolstadt production is known for its elaborate decorative porcelain, often inspired by natural motifs and the European historicist tradition. In this piece, the object’s tableware function gives way to a strongly ornamental design, in which modeling, color, and relief decoration take center stage.
Royal Rudolstadt “RW” mark stamped on the base.
