Lithograph depicting a ballerina, created by Amleto Dalla Costa in the 1970s

Ø 56 cm, height 60 cm including frame

Amleto Dalla Costa is renowned for his figurative and sensual style, which developed from the 1960s onward. His work is characterized by stylized, elegant, and often melancholic female figures, executed using a painting technique that influenced the design and commercial illustration of his time. His work often centers on the female figure as an archetype of beauty, sensuality, and mystery. He makes striking use of lines, flat colors, and crisp outlines, creating a suspended, almost metaphysical atmosphere. He worked extensively with printmaking techniques (screen printing and lithography), as well as painting on canvas, making his works very popular as art prints and posters. Dalla Costa enjoyed great commercial success, and his aesthetic became highly recognizable and widespread in the interiors and art galleries of the 1970s and 1980s.
