Colonnata Ceramics was one of the most important and longest-standing factories in Florence’s ceramics industry. Established in Sesto Fiorentino, it has been producing high-quality ceramic objects for decades, distinguished by elegant, refined design and richly evocative artistic decoration.

Founded in the 19th century, Colonnata became known for producing ceramics and tableware for domestic use and for furnishing interiors in rustic and modern styles. The company soon achieved considerable success thanks to the quality of its products and the skill of its artisans. In 1893, Colonnata received an important international accolade: a gold medal at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

Colonnata’s production ranged from everyday objects, such as plates and tableware, to more decorative pieces, such as vases and sculptures.
Colonnata’s ceramic decorations were often created using an airbrush, a technique that allowed for soft, delicate effects.
