Max Le Verrier (1891–1973) was a French sculptor celebrated for his Art Deco works, particularly his decorative statuettes made of metal, especially bronze and the alloy he patented himself, called “Art Cast” or “Régule d’Art.” His most successful production dates from the 1920s and 1930s, the golden age of Art Deco.

Le Verrier is renowned for his elegant, stylized figures that capture movement and dynamism. His typical subjects include Ballerinas and Female Figures, often depicted in acrobatic or dancing poses, in keeping with the sophisticated aesthetics of the period. Mythological Figures: such as fauns, centaurs, and Amazons. Athletic and Gymnastic Figures.

He was a pioneer in integrating light into his sculptures, creating lamps and mantel clocks in which the bronze (or Art Cast) figure was often paired with frosted or colored glass spheres or discs (his lamps with green or orange spheres are particularly famous).
