Meissen porcelain is considered one of the earliest and finest examples of European porcelain. Born in 1710 in Meissen, Germany, this porcelain has gained an international reputation over the centuries for its quality, the refinement of its decorations and its craftsmanship.

The history of Meissen porcelain is closely linked to the figure of Johann Friedrich Böttger, an alchemist and ceramist who, after years of research, managed to develop a formula to create a white and translucent porcelain, similar to Chinese porcelain, but produced in Europe.

The Meissen factory quickly became famous throughout Europe, and its creations were admired and collected by royal courts and aristocratic families.

Meissen porcelain is characterized by a fine and translucent paste, obtained thanks to a mixture of fine raw materials and a particularly long and complex firing process.
The decorations are handmade by skilled artisans and are often inspired by nature, mythology and history. Among the most famous motifs are flowers, birds, landscapes and human figures.
The Meissen hallmark, known as "two crossed swords", is one of the oldest trademarks in the world and represents a symbol of authenticity and quality.
