Achille Castiglioni (16 February 1918 – 2 December 2002) was an Italian architect and designer of furniture, lighting, radiograms and other objects. He is considered one of the most important and influential designers of the 20th century.

Castiglioni was awarded the Compasso d'Oro, the most prestigious Italian design award, seven times in his career. He was also a member of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome and of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In addition to his activity as a designer, Castiglioni was also a design professor at the Polytechnic of Milan. He was a prolific writer and speaker and was passionate about promoting the importance of design in everyday life. Achille Castiglioni died in Milan in 2002 at the age of 84. He was a giant of Italian design and his work continues to inspire designers and collectors around the world.
