Attilio Alfieri (1904-1992) was an Italian painter known for his innovative and evocative works that spanned a variety of styles, including Futurism, Abstractionism and Surrealism. He is considered one of the most significant figures of Italian art of the 20th century.

Born in Loreto, Italy, in 1904, Alfieri's early life was marked by financial difficulties. He had limited formal education, but showed a natural talent for art from a young age. In 1925 he moved to Milan, where he immersed himself in the city's lively artistic scene.

In the late 1920s, Alfieri came under the influence of Futurism, an avant-garde artistic movement that celebrated dynamism, speed and technology. He experimented with futurist techniques, incorporating geometric shapes, fragmented forms and dynamic compositions into his paintings.

In the 1930s he began to move away from Futurism and explore more abstract forms of expression. He was influenced by Surrealism, a movement that explored the unconscious mind and dreams. His paintings became more dreamlike and evocative, often featuring biomorphic forms, symbolic elements and atmospheric landscapes.

Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Alfieri continued to develop his unique style, blending elements of abstraction, surrealism, and personal expression. His paintings became more lyrical and poetic, conveying a sense of mystery and introspection. Lui has won recognition for his innovative approach and his ability to create deeply personal and evocative works.
