The Pucci Manufactory of Umbertide, active in Umbria throughout the twentieth century, is part of Italy’s rich artistic ceramics tradition, distinguished by a strongly decorative production and continuous research into forms, glazes, and surfaces.
Pucci ceramics are characterized by a great variety of styles: sculptural and plastic forms coexist with geometric, abstract, and figurative decorations, often enhanced by textured glazes and intense color combinations. Vases, plates, sculptures, and decorative objects attest to a production capable of combining Umbrian craftsmanship with the experimentation of design and the decorative arts of the second half of the twentieth century.
Particularly appreciated today by collectors of vintage Italian ceramics, Pucci’s production represents an interesting example of that creative period in which manufacturing, art, and design freely interacted, giving rise to objects with a strong expressive identity.
