1950s Lalique Crystal Sparrow-Shaped Paperweight

I Lalique crystal  They originated from the ideas of René Lalique, a French jeweler and glassmaker. 

Throughout his career, he collaborated with several important brands, such as Cartier and Boucheron. However, his first true research into glass began in 1890, when he created elements for jewelry and also studied enameling and engraving techniques. 

In 1921, he founded his glassworks in Alsace, which is still the only Lalique factory in the world. 

In the mid-1920s, the arrival of Art Deco marked the peak of his career. Thanks in part to his techniques, he created a style expressed through the contrast between transparent and opaque glass. 

The crystals feature designs inspired by three themes dear to René: women, flora, and fauna. 

The company he founded continues its tradition to this day, producing jewelry, perfumes, interior decorations, and artistic glass creations. It remains a symbol of French luxury, expressed through the splendor of its jewelry, the wonder of transparency, and the brilliance of crystal.
