Domenico Purificazione (1915-1984) was an Italian painter, exponent of the Roman School. He was born in Fondi, in the province of Latina, in 1915 and moved to Rome in 1934, where he frequented the Roman School environment and became friends with artists such as Mario Mafai, Scipio and Antonietta Raphaël. His painting is characterized by social realism, with a strong attention to the themes of daily life and work. In 1956 he participated in the VII Quadrennial National Art Exhibition in Rome.

The sue works are preserved in the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome and in other important public and private collections.

Purified's painting is characterized by a strong realism, with attention to detail and a meticulous rendering of the subjects. Its colors are often warm and earthy, with a predilection for white, green and cobalt blue. His figures are often monumental, with a strong expressiveness.
