Mario Bettinelli (Treviglio, 1880 – Milan, 1953) was an Italian painter, known mainly for his portraits and caricatures. His art, characterized by a confident stroke and a deep understanding of the psychology of his subjects, made him a prominent figure in the Milanese artistic scene of his time.

Bettinelli trained at the Moretto School of Art and Crafts in Brescia, where he specialized in the techniques of portraiture and caricature. These skills proved to be fundamental for his subsequent career, in which he portrayed numerous important figures, often with a touch of humor and irony.

Bettinelli's style is eclectic and evolves throughout his career. In his early works, the influence of academic tradition is noticeable, with a taste for detail and a classical composition. Subsequently, his style becomes freer and more experimental, approaching contemporary artistic movements.

Her favorite subjects are female figures, often portrayed in sensual and languid poses, and characters from social life. Her caricatures, on the other hand, are characterized by a sharp line and a great ability to capture the distinctive traits of her subjects.
