Giacomo Gabbiani (Milan, September 18, 1900 – Salice Terme, 1989) was an Italian painter and engraver.
"He studied painting with Riccardo Brambilla and Giuseppe Amisani. In 1925, he began to exhibit in various exhibitions: at the National Exhibition of the Accademia di Brera, at the Permanente in Milan."
His first solo exhibition dates back to 1928, at the Micheli Gallery. The first professional successes begin: the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan acquires two of his paintings in 1928, in 1932 he is commissioned for a portrait for the Quadreria of the Ospedale Maggiore, and in 1939 one of his paintings is purchased by the Ministry of War.
Still in 1939, he exhibited an anthological show in Palazzo Berberini in Rome.
In the post-war period, with the changing tastes of the public, it nevertheless remains sidelined in the Italian artistic scene, while continuing to work and exhibit: in Sanremo in 1956, the following year at the Centro San Babila in Milan.
